Each year thousands of tourist travel to the Western Cape to experience nature’s beauty. The variety and colors are breathtaking. So if you love flowers, then there is no place else you want to be DAG/DAY 1 – Maandag/ Monday The bus will be loaded at 8h00 and will be leaving at 9h00. Scenic and orientation drive through STELLENBOSCH, Jonkershoek, Spier via Annandale rd & Mooiberge Strawberry farmstal & ( wine tasting optional) Dr. LEANNE DREYER ( Lecturer in BOTANY - US), or another expert, will prepare us for our ' unique flower experience' and will show us all about the West Coast flower Kingdom in The Botanical Gardens in Stellenbosch. You will be equipped to spot, discuss and enjoy the smaller living issues of life with eagle eyes. Leaving Gardens after a light picnic there and heading for MAMRE Mission Station, founded by the German Moravian missionary Society in 1808. DARLING: 3rd weekend of September is the Wildflower show and orchard show. (Duckitt Nurseries). In POTSBERG-RESERVE (WC NATIONAL PARK) we will experience a superb view of sea and Langebaan lake, birds, fauna & Flora & short walking trial. Retire for the day at YZERFONTEIN B&B beech house with exquisite sea-view after dinner at a Local Restaurant. DAY 2 – Tuesday / Dinsdag We will be heading for LAMBERTSBAY where we will be going on a Dolphin and Whale watching BOAT TRIP. Lunch at DIE MUISBOSSKERM (Open-air Seafood Feast) (Other food on request – ask in advance) Visit BIRD ISLAND before leaving for one of the biggest SUCCULENT FARMS in the World called KOKERBOOM at VANRHYNSDORP. ( KNERS VLAKTE) On our way to CALVINA via NIEUWOUDTVILLE On the GUEST FARM in CALVINIA we will be warmly welcomed with a glass of wine or juice, campfire & Braaivleis. DAY 3 – Wednesday / Woensdag Depart from the farm BRANDWAG to CALVINIA on our way to the farm TORINGS, experiencing most exquisite views and flowers. During the last hours of the day the 4 x 4 guide will take us on a most intriguing trip in the HANTAMBERG, believe to seeing ribbokke, baboons, succulents, flowers and Black Eagles ( Witkruis Arende)' where we will also enjoy a sundowner and snacks while absorbing the stunning, twilight view of Calvinia from atop THE HANTAM. Dinner will be served on the farm BRANDWAG. DAY 4 – Thursday / Donderdag Departing for the flower farm and waterfall at Nieuwoudtsville and light lunch at a local Restaurant before heading for Stellenbosch.
